QC Swag

Promote Queens College in a hip, cool, fun way for prospective and current students, through graphics applied to self-promotional merchandise such as t-shirts, hoodies, stickers, and pins.

My concept is Civil rights and black history with queens college. This relates to QC because in the past one of the many protests of the Civil Rights Movement, specifically the Freedom Summer of 1964, James E. Chaney, Michael H. Schwerner, and Andrew Goodman were killed for attempting to register black people to vote and were memorialized with the addition of the Chaney-Schwerner-Goodman Clocktower. MLK also did a speech at QC. And QC granted the first African American woman a degree in Chemistry. Therefore, QC is linked to black history. In the 1960’s 16 volunteers also went from QC went to Prince Edward County, Virginia. They tutored black children who were shut out of schools due to segregation. And they also supported the Brown v. Board of Education Supreme Court decision in 1954. The info graphics relate to QC because it is based on QC stats.
